Advance Parole for DACA
Advance Parole for DACA Recipients — Travel Abroad and Return Lawfully
If you currently have DACA status, you may be eligible to apply for Advance Parole, which allows you to leave the United States and return lawfully. If you are approved and return on Advance Parole, your reentry will be considered a lawful admission—a significant advantage that may open the door to additional immigration options not available after an unlawful entry.
🛫 Advance Parole is still available to DACA recipients as of now, but it is only granted for limited purposes. You may qualify if your travel falls under one of the following categories:
• Humanitarian — such as receiving medical treatment, visiting a seriously ill family member, or attending a funeral
• Educational — such as participating in study abroad programs or academic research
• Employment — such as overseas work assignments, interviews, trainings, or professional conferences
🚫 Advance Parole is not granted for vacations or leisure travel.
⚠️ While USCIS continues to approve Advance Parole for DACA recipients, reentry is never guaranteed. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has discretion at the port of entry. Because of this, and due to ongoing litigation and possible policy changes, we strongly recommend that you consult with an immigration attorney before making international travel plans.
☀️ We would be glad to represent you in your Advance Parole application.
